Increasingly there is talk in the various websites, such as Facebook groups, to foreign bands, forget alone an Italian musical reality which seeks to establish itself in the world, and especially that it has all the credentials to be able to impartir lessons at a lot of bands already known in all the world. Without a doubt, the “Nero di Marte" is one of the most effective weapons in Italian armament. This band from Bologna has reached its second album named "Derivae", symbolic and enigmatic title at the same time, which suggests nothing to the listener. It must be said that the first work of the band was really great and this new album is even better. The disc has an excellent production, which allows you to hear all the instruments well blended together. The band reaches very high levels of songwriting, taking influences a little everywhere. Impossible not notice in tracks like "Clouded Allure" the memory of the mastodontics French band "Gojira". I also enjoyed the tracks in Italian: "L’Eclisse" and "Il Diluvio", where we can hear that the Italian language lends itself well to a music type ambiguous as this. The key of the success of "Derivae" lies in the variety of genres considered and proposals within these seven songs with a consistent time required. On this record, we must face parts "calm", characterized by clean vocals well placed and great musical pathos, parts where massive riffs and pounding blast beats create an explosive mixture that can only leave devastated the listener's ears. Finally, I think this is only the beginning of a great musical journey, which is leading the "Nero di Marte" to levels that here in Italy we have only ever dreamed of. Sempre più spesso ci si trova a parlare nei vari siti web, gruppi Facebook, di band straniere, lasciando da parte una realtà musicale italiana che invece cerca di affermarsi anche a livello mondiale, e che soprattutto ha tutte le carte in regola per poter impartir lezioni a molte band già famose ovunque. Senza alcun dubbio, i “Nero di Marte” sono una delle armi più efficaci dell’armamento italiano. Questa band bolognese è arrivata al suo secondo disco, “Derivae”, titolo emblematico e allo stesso tempo enigmatico, che non lascia intuire niente all’ascoltatore. C’è da dire che anche il primo lavoro della band era davvero ottimo, ma stavolta si sono davvero superati. Il disco gode di un’ottima produzione, che permette di sentir tutti gli strumenti ben amalgamati insieme. La band raggiunge livelli di song-writing davvero molto alti, prendendo influenze un po’ da ovunque. Impossibile non notare in tracce come “Clouded Allure” il ricordo dei mastodontici francesi “Gojira”. Ho apprezzato molto anche le tracce in italiano, ovvero “L’eclisse” e “Il Diluvio”, dove possiamo notare come la lingua italiana si presti bene anche ad un genere ambiguo come questo. La chiave del successo di “Derivae” sta nella varietà di generi presi in considerazione e proposti all’interno di queste sette canzoni dalla durata piuttosto consistente. In questo disco, ci si trova a fronteggiare parti più “calme”, caratterizzate da Clean Vocals ben posizionate e gran pathos musicale, a parti dove riff massicci e blast beats martellanti si uniscono per creare una miscela esplosiva che può solo lasciar devastate le orecchie dell’ascoltatore. Infine, credo che questo sia un soltanto l’inizio di un grande cammino musicale, che sta portando i “Nero di Marte” a raggiungere livelli che qua in Italia ci siamo sempre e solo sognati.
